Indian Railways to equip all 8,500 stations with Wi-Fi

According to official data, four out of ten trains in the country are not being delayed due to fog, nature or accidents, but the delay is due to the large scale repair work of the Railways.

It appears that travelers are paying the cost of heavy maintenance work, which has increased by 43 percent during April and December, 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.

In 2017, during that period, in 2016, 1,09,704 trains were delayed, this number was less than 16,090 trains.

As far as 5% of train accidents were delayed, in which cattle were run, 20% of the asset failure and 40% were due to repair work. The rest have been attributed to the bad weather conditions

Officials say safety is priority for the Railways in the coming year, passengers have to be sacked due to the repair and maintenance work.

A senior Railway official told PTI that between the average of April-November 2017, the Railways have increased block hours for maintenance of 18% compared to last year, thereby delaying the network.

Indian Railways have spent six months to 1,000 crores for changing the old and out-day-date track for new months from October 2017.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has set a target of track renewal for 3,600 km for the current financial year, which has increased by about 80% by the average of 2,000 km per km by the Railways in each financial year.

In fact, the Railways has renovated the record 476 km in the month of December and is expected to renew 3,500 kilometers in 2017-18-18.

A senior railway official said, “Security is our top priority, repair and maintenance work is the only way we can ensure that”

Due to the repair work in the current financial year from April to December, the restrictions on train restrictions have been affected, but in the last financial year the restriction period was recorded at 74.5 percent, which was about 3.73 percent less.

Railways have extended hours of work per day for approximately 5000 hours per day per day from almost 3,000 hours per day across the country.
