HOW TO MAKE A PRODUCTIVE RAMADAN UNDER THE PERIOD OF LOCKDOWN

Alhamdulillah, (الحمد لله)

The blessed month of Ramadan, is totally upon us!

This holy month brings an opportunity to worship Allah (SWT), reflect, reach out to others, and grow spiritually. However, this year is a little different from the last years…

Yes, with the Coronavirus COVID 19pandemic, we’ll all be spending Ramadan indoors at home.

This means that there are no Taraweeh(التراويح) prayers in the mosque, no family visit, no communal iftar, and there are no volunteers on the ground in our community.

That’s why there is no, Taraweeh prayers in the mosque, no family visit, no communal iftar, and there are no volunteers on the ground in our community.

This is a strange time, to say the least. But: It is still a special and blessed period! And we just have to learn to adapt to our new situation.

Yes, we can still get back the rewards of Ramadan and get closer to Allahالله (SWT). While we may be at home and in lockdown, we can still have a productive Ramadan.

We have our top tips for productivity Ramzan in the quarantine period such are below.

CREATE A SCHEDULE(By creating a daily routine, you can monitor your activities and spiritual progress)

It doesn’t matter the LOCKDOWN, it’s always a good idea to set a schedule for Ramadan. It helps us to plan, set goals, and keep track of our day.

This is especially important during lockdown where we are always in one place and require a routine to maintain some sense of normality.

However, there is one important thing to remember: set realistic goals.

Yes, we all start Ramadan with heartfelt things. But being realistic in what we can achieve is important.

Persistent ibadah(العبادة) and good deeds are better than suppressing oneself in consideration of “failed” goals and neglect your health and personal self-care.

So set a timetable for how you will spend your days and work regularly in ibadah(العبادة) practices. How much Quran you must have read, how long you will spend in extra prayer, what good work you will do.

You will find that stability will help with the stress of lockdown and ensure that you achieve your goals, Inshallah(إن شاء الله)!

EAT HEALTHY FOOD (Try to avoid fried foods and dishes with lots of sugar and salt – they will only dehydrate you and make you sluggish!)

When it comes to food during Ramadan, rule number one is without a doubt: Do not eat during Iftar!

Eating or eating heavy, fried, or otherwise starchy foods will make you feel sleepy and bloated.

To be your best self, make sure you eat healthy food.

Eat slow-releasing foods such as porridge, fruit, yogurt, and cereal to keep you going throughout the fasting day.

Not eating enough will mean that you do not have enough energy to read, pray, and carry out your daily tasks. Similarly, over-eating will make you feel sluggish and want to over-sleep.

Therefore, give priority to eating good quality healthy food. And: Plan ahead by creating pre-planned menus or cooking bread or even cooking in bulk.

This will ensure that you get healthy, nutritious food on hand, and don’t feel hungry or iftar time for fast-food comes.

FOCUS ON SELF-CARE(Taking care of your physical and mental health is a religious duty, to take good care of yourself.)

Self-care is incredibly important, not only for our physical health but also for our mental well-being.

During the lockdown, it is important that we establish good self-care practices. This not only ensures that we are happy and healthy but also helps to keep us motivated and productive.

With additional challenges, especially during Ramadan, it is therefore important that we take time for ourselves. We need to ensure that we engage in activities that help us feel relaxed, as stress-free as possible and focused within ourselves.

After all, Allahالله (SWT) commands us to take care of health!

So if you are isolating lonely and missing friends, family, and loved ones: Schedule a regular Skype call or phone call. Or even better, Why not have breakfast together via video IFTAR?

It is Sunnah(سنة) to maintain a good relationship with loved ones, so have a friendly chat, communal virtual fast or just to relieve some Pre-Hungry Tension.

It’s important to make time for yourself and the activities that you enjoy. Pray to Allah (SWT), take that relaxing bath, have a kick-about in the garden, or go for a long walk. (Make sure, ensuring that you maintain your distance from other people outside your household) to ensure that you stay healthy in mind as well as the body!)

SIMPLIFY SADAQAH(صدقة) CHARITY (Your Sadaqah helps by improving their lives and gives them a purpose to live)

In Islamic terminology, the word Sadakah (صدقة) means voluntarily giving charity for the good of one’s heart. It is not an Islamic obligation, but a practice organized to help the needy or the underprivileged. This act reflects the strength of the believer’s faith and further enhances it.

Ramadan(رمضان) is a time of worship of Allah (SWT) and the memory of others is less fortunate than their own. And no matter where we are, we can always reflect and reach the needy people.

This is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here in India, vulnerable people are struggling with their health, financial concerns, and loneliness.

In this lockdown period Due to food supply chain disruptions and lack of financial and medical resources, millions of men, women, and children are also becoming vulnerable around the world.

Men, women, and children in crisis need our help more than ever. During this holy month let us not forget them to pray and worship Allah (SWT). But we can still help In this lockdown period

May Allah encourage all Muslims to give as much Sadaqah(صدقة) as humanly possible for the betterment of the Muslims.
